Our lab welcomes applicants from any race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, caregiver and family commitments, political affiliation, sexual orientation, and eligible age or disability status. Furthermore, we are committed to maintaining a supportive and collaborative lab environment.
As and when vacancies become available within the group, they’ll be advertised here.
We regularly offer undergraduate projects for the University of Cambridge’s NST Part II Pathology Dynamics of Infectious Diseases and Part III Systems Biology courses. Past and ongoing projects include Signatures of bovine tuberculosis transmission from whole-genome sequencing and cattle movement networks, Phylodynamic models for the intra-species transmission of Mycobacteria and Mutational spectra in Mycobacteria. MPhil students are also welcome to contact us if they’re interested in doing their project with us.
Enquiries about PhD positions should be e-mailed directly to Prof. Julian Parkhill.
Besides our shared interest in science, the group enjoys an active social life. We have regular dinners and love to explore the restaurants and pubs of Cambridge together. The group take turns in beating the PI at squash, and also play each other and other members of the department.
